Blue Spruce Tree Seed Planting Directions
Seeds will germinate better if given a “cold treatment”. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Then place seeds in a loosely closed plastic bag in the freezer for 3 to 4 weeks. Remove seeds carefully and plant 1/2 inch deep in growing medium. Keep soil damp until seedlings emerge and then place in a sunny area and water when the top of soil appears dry. Transplant to a larger pot when plants are well established. Final placement outside can be made in spring by “hardening off” your seedlings by placing them outdoors during the day and bringing them back inside at night for about a week and then transplant to your final location.
