Green Globe Artichoke
A staple of Mediterranean cuisine. Grows best with a long, mild growing season, but can grow as an annual in cooler regions. Colorful flower buds appear year round in warm climates. Cut back to the ground after it has flowered to encourage regrowth.
Group 3 seeds every 6 inches. Start seeds indoors 12 weeks before your average last spring frost date. After 4 weeks transplant outside. Protect seedlings from frost. Harvest buds while they are closed. After initial harvest, side shoots will produce delicious smaller bonus buds. Harvest: 5 months
